Hi there,

I have just applied for the Customer Service Professional job (Conductor) with TPE. I was successful in my application and SJT and today had my telephone interview. Good news is that I received email saying I passed, but that on occasions when many people applying, not guaranteed of making the next stage which is Assessment day. So fingers crossed that my telephone interview scored high so that I do make it! Just wondered what to expect for next stage should I make it? My background is customer services and sales (20 years experience). 7 of those years I was a taxi driver so face to face customer service. Most of my other experience was in telephone sales and telephone customer service roles. Any tips would be welcome as this job really got me excited when I saw it advertised a week ago and I really want it now:D

Next stage is assessment day, in general it's a concentration test, a reading test, and 2 ticket exercises. Some TOCs have extra tests too, like maths agility, listening for key info.

Assessment days are solely for aptitude and ability, you can't defraud the system and previous experience won't come into play for the assessment day.

Give us an example of when....

Usually they want examples of above and beyond, great customer service skills and problem solving as part of a team.
