Had the conditional job offer & passed the medical, just waiting now for the Official offer and start date, anyone know roughly how long this process takes as im currently on a 0 hrs contract treading water with an agency , thinking I might book a short holiday before starting but obviously cant do anything until a start date confirmed

All depends, when did you have the medical and when TPE were told of you passing it. They could take weeks and all depends when they have a course starting. Might be worthwhile dropping recruitment a email asking a timescale.
