I saw a TPE Class 802 (802213) at Manchester Airport today and on the display sign on the side of the carriage it showed Glasgow Central.

Is this the first time a TPE Class 802 has worked a (Manchester Airport -) Glasgow Central passenger service? I thought these would only operate on Manchester Airport - Edinburgh diagrams?

I double checked on RealTimeTrains and looks like it did go all the way to Glasgow:

I think there is one planned diagram this way to do with maintaining traction knowledge for the crews?

Normally the 802 WCML services go to Edinburgh (from memory there are normally 2 sets out). Unless TPE are struggling with the CAF units they are needing to send 802s to Glasgow now.

Yes the two diagrams that start in Edinburgh are both usually 802. Been a diagram either part or wholly missing due to broken down train or some version of pretty much every day for at least 2 weeks. 397s must be even worse than usual for them be shuffling another 802 on to the route.
