Just gone to buy a day return to Thirsk at Northallerton station. Been informed every ticket office operated by tpe and Northern is out of action. In addition the tvm is down. So been advised to buy on board. Are TVMs everywhere affected? The guy said it's a Fujitsu problem so any other TOCs affected?

It was a Fujitsu STAR desktop issue, so ticket offices were out of action. TVMs unaffected so Northallerton TVM issue would be something else.

Greater Anglia were affected too. They were telling people on Twitter that they had to buy a ticket via their website or app, pretty sure they’re not allowed to insist people do that…

They can certainly ask. But if the TVMs were also out of order then people are entitled to buy onboard.
