Hi everyone

It looks like the new Tottenham Hale station is almost finished.

- The station building is now illuminated
- The rear close to the GA station has had its hoarding removed and replaced by metal fencing and it looks almost finished
- Internally the lighting is on and announcements are being made
-Signage is up

Does anyone know if there is an official opening date? It looks imminent

Update: part of the station building has opened to the GA side with entry and exit from Tottenham Hale LU station from a new side entrance from this morning

Not as part of this project. IIRC from the original thread there is room to fit one in.
There is enough room, when I went there when the work started, I thought that was part of what was happening. However this wasn't so and the work actually placed lots of obstacles in the way of a fourth track which will undoubtedly add considerably to the cost of putting one in.

I don’t get this. Why out obstacles in the way? Sure, Crossrail Two is a way off and the fourth platform won’t be arriving next year. I get that. But why add additional obstacles. Why?

...usually, because they're not as big an obstacle as they appear. Consider this - if they were to build platform 1, they would have to physically build a platform - this way, they could do so without interfering with the OHLE in use by the current line. As part of that, they can install new masts, and when everything bar track laying is complete, it's just a short possession to switch over the existing OHLE to use the new masts. As part of that you would take away the old ones, leaving just the foundations, which you might be able to cover with ballast, or you just chop off and cover over, and finally lay the track.

Been a few times in the last few weeks.
Was partially open but now seems complete including Greater Anglia machines and staffed ticket window in a LU branded station (and LU machines at the top of their escalators).
The Victoria Line lift replacement is new complete (the old one was... interesting...)

Arrived by National Rail from Liverpool Street this morning.
Had walked part-way up the train at LST only to have to walk back down the platform to exit (and via a longish zig-zag path to avoid the few steps up to the new ticket hall) as the (temporary?) street-level exit is now closed.
Equally, coming back was going to use NR to Liverpool Street but after walking past the closed NR entrance to the new ticket hall didn't want to walk half way along the Northbound platform to access the lift across to the footbridge and across to the Southbound so took the lift down to the Victoria Line.
Is the old gateline on the Northbound NR permanently closed, was so handy? :(
