Toton Yard Sat 11 Aug

When I was returning on the UK Railtours train yesterday evening from Buxton to the South, we passed through Toton yard, I noticed what appeard to be an HSTSet with DB markings, the front loco or driving unit was Silver and the coaches which appeared to be Mark 3 where in a dark red/maroon livery, there was some writing, perhaps an internet address along the side of the train, but I could not read it properly. Does anyone know what this train set may have been?

I also saw a rake there of again I think, Mark 3 coaches in Blue & White Inter-City livery, could these have been used by the sort lived and much lamented Wrexham & Shropshire service?

The silver and maroon coaches are the DB managers train, which is formed of a DVT (82146) and 3 Mk3 coaches (10211, 10546 & 11039).

The blue and grey coaches were Mk2 coaches, ex Cargo D I believe.

Definitely the DB Schenker managers train.

I was on the same tour too. I was saddened to see how many withdrawn 60's there are. They take up lots and lots of siding space (not that Toton is short mind).

That is correct - they were at Toton at the time of Cargo-D's collapse and have remained there since. They are now owned by DRS.
