What happens when one covers all lines there are to cover? Does one become crowned a god, recieve an OBE from the Queen, or metamorph into some 'higher intelligence being'? What is the the purpose?
To visit new places?
To meet new people?
Or are you like a hypnotised, obsessed salmon, just trying to get to the 'destination'?,

Start on points/crossovers and individual up/down lines I think I remember Tom trying to talk me into a trip down to Wool to cover the "rare crossover".

Wonder how many people have actually gained the Ultimate Stoat[size=-2]TM[/size] award at basic level (full coverage), and if anyone is close to level 2 (all running lines and normal crossovers).

Indeed! I remember a friend of mine hiding in the toilet of the last train to come off the Somerset & Dorset line at Highbridge - the connection between the S&D and GW lines there ran through the goods shed, and therefore only freight and empty passenger stock trains were allowed.

Covering crossovers used to be a fairly simple matter in the days when engineering work meant single line working past the obstruction, not the complete closure of a stretch of line as is normally the practice today.

There are, of course, plenty of freight-only lines to cover, a considerable challenge in itself these days.

An additional challenge is to alight from and board a train at every station on the network.

For me, the purpose is simply to travel on as many lines as possible.

Exactly and we know all the names people got on here
