How, the Jaguar was already there when Jeremy arrived!

i have heard on another forum that that the jag parked outside the hotel wasnt the 1 that james may drove i wonder what happened to hammond though.

great pity the stig wasnt there. they could have made some money form selling photos of stig on the footplate of tornado

also it seems network rail cleared all trains out of tornados way apart from just outside edinborough where signalers had let a stopper service go in front

anyway we will have to wait until june to see what really happened

Well, the TG Touareg was parked in front of it with their cameras and radios in it, and they were taking the cameras out of the Jag, so I presume it was :p

It's not rigged.

It's scripted.

Top Gear isn't a "factual" programme. It's entertainment. Damn good entertainment.

I can remember a couple of years ago they won an Emmy for "Best International Unscripted Programme". On air, they dedicated it to their script writers.

They do, however, and this includes Clarkson, admire feats of British engineering

Anywaym google maps reckons on about 7hrs 10 minutes for driving Kings Cross to Waverly Bridge. However, this is a journey planner that seems to suggest you can do a left turn from North Bridge onto Market Street. Reckon the Jag doesn't have the ground clearence to get over the parapet, and the drop's around three high building stories

I absolutely love that comment:lol:

I was at kings cross yesterday morning and the car and bike left about 40 minutes after tornado. Both didn't seem in much off a rush as they came up and down the slope next to the station with Hammond on the bike going round the block and back twice to get better filming i would imagine. I spoke to thew cameraman who filmed from a bike said that on the show they would be shown leaving simultaneously.

sure you weren´t running after Clarkson or was that purely a coincidence? ;)

I was running after Clarkson, but also trying to find where my friend had gone at the same time, which is why i let the camera drop and slowed down a couple of times. He'd been standing on the footbridge above me.

Also, forgot to add that the video of Tornado being hauled out by 66134 is also up:

Having actually been on TG, at Dunsfold, I can attest that it is indeed scripted. I had just a few seconds, twice, on TV and that was my claim to fame! OTT you should hear the language that the guys use...it would make a sailor's hair fall out!

How I wished that there were some kn@bs in fluorescent jackets about at KX and they attempted to tell JC to stop filming !! That would have made for top viewing.
I will put money on JC winning whatever mode of transport they use!! He has only lost twice to my knowledge!

Let me Guess Jermemy Clarkson is going to beat James and Richard by a couple of minutes, and then Jeremy will start slagging off steam and railfans.

I have read that the jaguar that was parked outside the station whern jeremy arrived in edinbrough was put there to throw people off as they didnt want people to know who actually won.

aparantly top gear is not going to be aired until the autum now.

Well, both the car and the TG Touareg were parked outside and they were taking cameras out of the Jag. And I somewhat doubt they'd get a second XK120 with cameras and another Touareg just to throw people off.
Also, I've been told by someone who was there for longer than me and went inside that May was indeed there, and no other car turned up.

aparantly top gear is not going to be aired until the autum now.

It was always going to be in the autumn.

Right then you lot: I draw your attention to this:

...you won’t have to wait long to find out more – the producer has told The Mole this race will likely kick off the new series. Probably.

Top Gear returns on June 21.

That's the official Top Gear website. Got it? Good. Anyone else speculating as to when it'll be broadcast, I'll be 'avin words.
