I find it really difficult to find timetable data for any days in the past. Neither on nationalrail.co.uk, realtimetrains.co.uk (although they do save old data but it’s difficult to find it) or brtimes.com can I select dates more than a few weeks ago.

I would like to find out where the Thameslink train that I took from Elephant & Castle to Blackfriars on Saturday, the 15th of April 2017 came from and went to and – if possible – what its headcode was. If this helps, the unit that worked the service was 319426 and the arrival at Blackfriars was at around 1925.

What units are on the Lancaster-Barrow shuttles tomorrow; specifically the 1001 LAN-BIF and 1715 BIF-LAN?

I know there's a paid site - http://www.freightlocate.co.uk - that would allow you to do this. Would not provide unit / loco numbers though. Perhaps, someone else knows other options?

Closest thing I can find is this, but for some reason on RTT (and TRUST) there's no timing reports for it after Hereford - although not showing cancelled and is a Colas timber train that would've gone through Nantwich about the right time (half ten). Cannot see any other freights going through Nantwich around then (unless something was diverted).

It was Colas 70814 on 6M51

Nothing allocated for 144010 today, presumably because of Northern being on strike today through to Monday 10th.

Thanks for that! Baglan Bay - Chirk timber. Could tell it was Colas from the livery and could tell it was timber from the smell which lingered long after its passing ...
