I wouldn't have had time to go for both anyway - but the good news is I did get 153 373 off my photo list despite it attempting to evade me!

True to form, there was a diagram swap involved! Fortunately it was one which actually saved me some time.

Turned up at Westbury off the 11.06 from Paddington… there’s a 153 in the siding… good… go to end of platform, take picture, zoom in on picture to check… screw eyes up with steam coming out of ears and curses aimed at the operations department as the realisation that it’s 372 sinks in. OK… err… looking at that diagram, there’s only two places it could logically have been switched. One was during the long layover at Temple Meads and the other was at Westbury itself. Nowhere else seems to have the time to allow a swap.

Turns out it was indeed switched early on at Westbury and was on the Swindon – Frome diagram. *phew* So it actually turned up at 13.37 which meant I could get the 15.05 back to London rather than the 16.09 as originally planned.

Anyway… two to go… the Nottingham one, I suspect, will be the easier one given that most of where it operates can be done at short notice whereas the Cardiff one I would need to be on the Valleys or the Queen Street shuttle and I would have to be pretty much committed to the trip to Cardiff early on in the day. If it’s in West Wales it’s out of reach altogether. Possibly do-able at Crewe or Shrewsbury if it’s on the HoW, but that would be rather time-limited.

At least the Nottingham one also gives rise to the possibility of getting one or more of the four remaining Neville Hill 158s that are still on my photo list at the same time…

Yes, that's right... I now only have six of the 15x series of units left on my photo hit list. :D

The last picture I can find on flickr of it was posted 4th June, which makes me think it may no longer be around!

Doesn't exist any more as extra vehicle placed back in 150126 after return from Works so back to 150926 and 150216 again.
