Top Gear Polar Special

did anyone see the top gear polar special last night? what did you think of it? was it funny, was it not funny?

i personally did not see the point in it, it was a waste of time, i understand the bit about being the first car to the north pole? what was the actual point in the program what did it show, nothing apart from a couple of petrol heads driving across snow and ice, to beat a sled to the pole, a waste of time and money in my pov. also they never wore there seat belts i thought they promote safe driving.

It was shown on Wednesday evening just before the 2 episodes of Heroes - Sunday's was a repeat.

It was done as per every Top Gear challenge - a bit of a ****take and reality put into one sole entity. It was quite interesting all-in-all IMHO, you'd have never imagined that a car would get as far as to hit the North Pole itself.

I was watching snippets as I was trying to watch The Bill at the same time, and I found it rather interesting.

I watched it throughout, but only the repeat yesterday.

I agree with Tom - it was just the usual Top Gear p**s-take - but a damn funny one.

Saw it Wednesday then Heros after, had a good laugh over that hour!

I thought it was great, especially when the SAS bloke (I konw they said it was special forces, but I recognise the voice, and it was the bloke who uses the name 'andy mcnab') pushed clarkson into the icy cold water.

It's amazing how fit hammond is, he ran alot of it. I loved the trick with the lighter fuel too.

just remeber lads, keep it in your trousers, there are better reasons than just for been done for indecent exposure

Funny when he started driving away while May was reading the paper on the seat. and as nutter said, the SAS bloke who shoved clarkson into the icy water. Hammond skiing was funny, and as for the navigator in the car, clarkson would have been better off with a sat nav. All May said to begin with in the car was, want a gin and tonic? . One point while they're in the tent, may gets out a bottle of wine, and clarkson is saved form not being drunk enough! Very funny!

They did have sat nav, it's how they knew they were at the pole. It worked in the same way as all sat navs. The only thing these fancy things you get in modern cars do is but the longitude and latidude co-ordinates on a map for thick people to read easily.

Me on the other hand, never have and never will use a sat nav, why use technology (which can and does go wrong) when you can navigate to a professional level using a normal map (which I can :razz
