Top four most inane TV programmes

From my many years of TV viewing:

1=. Small Wonder

I'm surprised at the number who dislike Pointless. Really it's just a non-railway version of those railuk threads that go something like "Name the most unusable station", "Silliest/stupidest re-opening suggestions", "Most inane TV program" etc with forum members always trying to outdo each other and others totally missing the point. Admittedly, the presenters are getting a bit annoying and some of the questions are a bit samey (as with the threads on here) but there's something satisfying about knowing a very obscure answer that no-one else has thought of. I once got seven pointless answers to the final round question and the contestants couldn't even manage 1 - I think it was "Countries more than 6 hours ahead of GMT" or something like that. Piece of p!ss if you watch the show regularly.

I'd rather the BBC showed Numberang than Pointless! At least it's entaining, fastpaced, funny, and elliminating the numbers on the presenter's card in order is very hard work. But the Pointless studio does look like it, maybe that where the idea came from? 0 thats pointless...

And Pointless is massively popular for a quiz show - its just reverse family fortunes.

I don't really get the hatred for Pointless, apart from that it's very slow because of the amount of time they spend chatting. It's fine on iplayer where you can skip those bits!
There's usually a couple of intelligent questions per episode, there are certainly much more inane quiz shows around.

Deal or No Deal, on the other hand, seems to purposely try and promote innumeracy!

No idea anymore. I generally stopped watching TV a number of years ago apart from one or two specific programmes so I cancelled the TV licence last December.

The only time the TV is used now is for my son to play his Xbox or my Wii.

I still watch selected TV programmes when I've got the time, but it does mean that I've no idea what is inane as I'm not going to be watching them.

Based on what little TV I've seen elsewhere I would put the stuff that I find particularly inane to be in the following categories:

Reality shows
Talent shows
Ant & Dec shows
Property shows

Are you openly admitting to using a TV without a licence?! Be careful... it's not just railway managers who read this forum you know...

I suggest you keep quiet on your TV license, watching any broadcast live is illegal without one.

Im pretty sure it doesnt matter. As if the TV people are going to find out who they are from this forum and they wouldve got a letter already anyway.

And whos to say they watch live TV?
