My Vista laptop doesn't like BVE, and my XP desktop can't run it either despite having a GeForce 8800GTS, and many versions of the drivers have been attempted...

It took me ages to get BVE4 to work on my previous computer with a GeForce 6800GT. Does BVE have a phobia of high end graphics cards?

Anyone here with an 8800 got BVE to work?

That's what I'm getting - notice the rather crappy appearance, the points seem to be missing textures. It is also veryyyyyy slow and crashes to BSOD a lot, especially on normal exit (CTRL ALT DEL comes in handy).

Any ideas?

I've managed to get it now, through reinstalls of .NET, BVE and nVidia drivers so it works smoothly, except... the points are still discoloured - could I be missing textures?

Here is a screenshot showing my problems to a greater extent:

I am getting similar things with BVE on a Windows XP PC.

I think it is to do with the Dx10 (i.e. geforce 8xxx) graphics cards. It didn't do any of these things when using the integrated graphics.

I haven't spent any time sifting through the Nvidia settings yet though.
