Title: LE Last Day (NXEA & Connections!)

Well well well travellers, as its LE (NXEA)s last day as a rail franchise, I thought I would have a go on them fir the final time.

First up *I rode Chiltern 168214 on 1H18 between Stourbridge and Smethwick Galton Bridge - although before that I purchased todays ticket - A great escape!

After a quick jog down to the lower level, 323210 was my next unit on 2A03 to Birmingham. A drab unit made worse by its coldness inside it! I was freezing my hair off! iPod in, and I'm rocking to Invincible by Adelitas Way.

Upon arrrival at BHM, I was RA to Upper Crap. Reheated Sausage baguette - Nom...not! After that I checked what VT had out on the 0730 to Milton Keynes but it had not turned up!

Next unit was LM 350259, a 350/2 with 3X2 seating...Joy. I caught this operating as 2Y54 between Birmingham New Street and Rugby.

Upon arrival at Rugby I waited in the freezing cold until 350116 came on 1U20. I caught it to Niorthampton where we rejoined 350259 operating 1U20 to London Euston.I however only travelled on it to Watford Junction.

Upon arrival at Watford Junction I decided I required a brew (Decaff if course!) So I had one from AMT.

Refulled and refreshed, I then boarded 350114 to London Euston calling at Bushley and Harrow and Wealdstone. It was on there I realised that today could still go wrong...somehow! I pulgged the iPod in and I heared Wild and Young by American Bang.

At Euston I ran down to the Bank branch of the Northern Line to get a service towards Moorgate. This got quickly followed by a service from Moorgate to Liverpool Street on the Hammersmith and City lines.

After a quick jog back to the surface, I got 360109 and 360103 to Stratford and then 321348 back from there to Liverpool Street. 11:15 was looming so I decided to nip into the First Class Lounge at Liverpool Street.

Next up was 90007 on the 11:30 National Express service to Norwich which was my next call. It was on there i discovered that my ipod battery had died. I looked round my seat and couldn't find a plug so I had to ask the guard where there was a plug socket to which she replied to use the one in the luggage racks at the end of the coach.

After a brief encounter at Norwich with a 150 (150280 to be precise) and a couple of 47s, I reboarded 90007 on service 1P43 back to Liverpool Street wiith a change of crew at Ipswich to take us on. I have one question - Why is it £1.10 for a CAN of Tango on NXEA?

Anyway, 379006 & 379003 were next up on 2H42 between Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale. This was followed by 379024 & 379008 on 1B81 Stanstead Exprees to Liverpool Street.

After playing round with Desiros, I thought, why not play with a Dusty Bin again. 321351 was next up for me operating the 16:35 to Stratford

Upon arrival, 90005 was due on the 16:45 back to Liverpool Street. I Love Skoda bashing...plus on a ODT too!

I then purchased my tea of chicken curry and rice followed by a quick trip on 315840/315846 on the 17:10 to Stratford.

A maze to find the DLR to Stratford International then after a trip on there, I had 360120 and 360104 back to Liverpool Street.

Next up was some S8 stock haulage on the Met followed by a Northern line Bank Branch trp from Kings X St Pancras to Candem town.

Upon arrival at Candem Town, I got a Charing X branch set to Mornington Crescent, then another to Euston.

LM 350116 (remember that?) did the 1846 EUS - NMP service arriving 20ish late. This got followed up by 350102 to Birmingham. Whilst on 350102, as it was snowing, the song Let it Snow played on my iPod at Coventry

172211 did the honors to Stourbridge Junction from Moor Street and Cradley Heath to end my day there.
