Title: Kangeroo Robbin’ Hood
So I thought a Friday bash was in order. 220023 kicked the day off with a Birmingham New Street to Derby 41 miles 32 bash on 1E82
Upon arrival at Derby, East Midlands 222013 was the next train to Long Eaton, so I had it on 1C32, just to get ahead of 153357 and 153319 which followed on to operate 2A27 to Nottingham.
Upon arrival at Nottingham, I caught the tram from Station Street to Old Market Square as I needed to nip into a Orange shop. After having Trent 452 to the Victoria Centre.
Trent 72 on the Red Arrow was next up to the QMC, followed by NCT 505 on the 34 and 673 on the 36, I walked back to the Old Market Square tram stop to get a tram to Station Street.
Back into Nottingham station for 156413 on 2H13 to Bulwell. Here I had a quick turn around as I had to run to Bulwell tram stop to get a tram to David Lane. From here I got another tram to Phoenix Park (NET) which had a 14 minute layover. Layover finished, it was the same tram onto The Forest tram stop.
After a silly incident with a toilet failing, I got a tram from The Forest up to Hucknall then back, following the railway back to Bulwell.
Next up from Bulwell, I headed back to Nottingham on partial Central Trains liveried 153376 operating service 2D14.
After walking down to Victoria Bus Station, Trent 452 provided the traction up to Old Market Square where I saw a sight…plenty of males and females wearing…hardly anything! I was sweltering as it felt like 30 degrees C!
So after cooling down nipping into Tesco and buying a few drinks, I caught a tram from Old Market Square to Station Street.
I had a text saying that 90045 was on 1K39 so I made my way from Nottingham to Leicester with 43043 leading and 43060 bringing up the rear on 1B63. We got held up behind a local (I think) on the approach to East Midlands Parkway so arrived 6 down!
Next up was 170519 and 170639 on 1P24 between Leicester and Nuneaton. Need I say more apart from: 170 = Boring! So upon arrival at Nuneaton, I decided to head to Coventry on LM 153354 (2G56) just to scratch the branch off (in the one direction at least!
Tea move now so I boarded 390013 on 1G36 from Coventry to Birmingham International where I nipped into Subway for a Meatball Mariana wrap with Cucumbers and Gerkins (Saucewise it was Hot Chilli Sauce and Mariana sauce to be saucy!)
Next up was a 1K39 positioning move…390047 from Birmingham International to Coventry as 1B84. I met a few of the K39 regulars on there as usual. I then stood outside the first class lounge to get the free Wi-Fi (Cheepskate!).
Then finally! 90045 on 1K39. I did this and WB64 between Coventry and Wolverhampton arriving a crap 7 minutes late on this 30 mile trip.
