Looking at making a journey from sussex to north London easier and cheaper by parking at Tolworth station and picking up the train there.

Does anyone know if there are usually spaces about 7:30am, and is the day cost really £4.60? Seems cheap for Surrey.

I wouldn't know how quickly it fills up or what the price is, but looking on Google Maps there's not a lot of spaces in it - I count 32...

You'll also find horrendous traffic northbound on the A240 to get to it. Travelling up from Sussex I'd suspect you could probably find better parking opportunities at quite a few stations closer to where the M23 / A217 would bring you in?

I would plan to get their by 7 so hopefully spaces left by then!

Has the benefit of tapping in to help keep commuting costs down

Ah - if you're using contactless, you could always try my local station of Epsom - there's a few car parks within a 10 minute walk, contactless is available and you have the advantage of three alternative routes into London ( Waterloo, Victoria and London Bridge* ) instead of one, so easier to avoid any disruption as long as the disruption isn't actually at Epsom itself.

*The London Bridge service does not operate when overtime bans are in force.
