what do drivers do if they are at 125 and they need to go to the toilet?

Pee in a bottle or stopthe train depending on what you need to do,I wouldn't fancy taking a dump in a bottle to be honest

Train driving is the best job in the world, great money & every day is different, but then again I do long distance in LHCS (loco Hauled Coaches), it has been quoted that the driving I do is probably the best in the country, I have worked on the Southern doing the commuter runs, the Brighton express, alsofrom Manchester to Cardiff in Diese lMultiple units and the Heart of Walesline where it is tokens and not signals but the engines I drive now are 3300 BHP and a lot more exciting to drive than a unit. I have been driving for 10 years and would not want any other job. However, the down side is the shifts and you loose your social life and do miss out on a lot of nights out.

Had a row with some kiddy on youtube who failed to realise driver can get the sack because of his "cab videos" he even shows their face on some and when I told him what could happen I got this

oh so they can get in trouble for giving a KIND, NICE friendly horn and being KIND AND GREAT letting someone know how a train works. its a load of rubbish. i dont ask for horns as much and why are you telling this to me?

honestly, other than LAP: what can you say to that and remain nice and kind yourself

Not me, I wanted to be scientist. Even when I joined the railway I did not want to become a driver, I was quite happy being a guard until they took mileage away. That is when I decided to become a driver.

I think your getting confused about people not being allowed in a cab whilst the train is in motion. From other posts it appears that there isn't a problem whilst a train is stationary at a station.

Yes, you would certainly be in trouble for giving someone an unauthourised cab ride. As for allowing cab access when the train is stationary I have always assumed it is OK. Good PR for the company anyway! I've never been told not to.

It all depends on the reason why someone wants to view the cab, generally interested or a kid then no problem, a bint who wants to film it to tell his mates he's cabbed a train, forget it

On the point of going in cabs whilst the train is stationary, I've been in the cab of a 142 in Leeds and I didn't ask, the guard offered.

The other time I've been in a cab on the mainline is a 333 when the guard was talking to a friend and I and he let us go in the rear cab whilst the train was in motion and he was present.
