Are such items now not being produced at all?
Can't comment about public timetables, but suspect Davetheguard is spot on. As an ex train planner we use to have the old WG/WH working timetables (South Western) and Carriage Working Notices, which were outsourced for printing in to the (latterly) blue covered format, which many of us scribbled our names on the covers of our office copies (too much pilfering even back then!), but once word processors and computers arrived, many /all such documents eventually went in to electronic format, even within the industry. On retirement I printed off a few CWN's that were of interest to me in my time, by no means a full batch of, just a few random examples, that I still have. But they will likely never see the light of day in general terms (unless I or anyone else on the job and likeminded) see's fit to donate them to Timetableworld or some such website in due course. I may well do so in time, but my point being that in general terms the computer age has all but killed off the avenues that those interested in the historical matters of same, once had access to back in the pen and paper world. Very sad really, like part of our history no longer being preserved..
