Likely a propoganda exercise. I believe the Third Reich built or partially built a holiday camp on the north coast, still extant in bits today.
Looking forward to further expansion, the continental timetables put up so far are immensely interesting so more would be very welcome!

Despite the label on the website that map is simply entitled "long distance travel" and is probably a pre-WW2 map lightly updated.

The "Vacation" routes is correct. Troops on leave from the front had a network of special trains to use. However, the ferries linking to England - well, that was fantasy.

Just noticed they've added more tables, including the famous Irish CIÉ "Supertrain" timetable of April 1973 - probably the most revolutionary railway timetable ever introduced in Ireland.
