In the past purchase of the National Rail Timetable was a must and they sat on a shelf as a reference library forever more. However, today I make use of the internet with electronic versions of the NRT and various TOC pocket timetables. Very occasionally I pick up a paper version of a pocket timetables, but not often.

Recently I realised that the reference library that I once had in the form of the NRTs was being lost and that in the future I would have a major gap in my library where, quite simply, various timetables and updates missing.

As a result I have started to gather electronic timetables together such that I do, at least, have an electronic archive.

Now to the question, if I were to make an archive of out-of-date electronic timetables available online, would it be of interest? I would initially start from now, going forward, but do have most of the electronic timetables for the past 2 years and would upload these in time. If people were able to provide other timetables from earlier these could be included.

I know I will have to seek the permission of Network Rail, the ATOC and the various TOCs but do not wish to do so if there is no interest from others.

What do you think?

Roy

Lot of the old paper timetables turn up on eBay from time to time and they normally sell (if only for a pound or thereabouts). Always good to see what services used to be like.

An excellent idea. I have all the NR full timetables on pdf files from 2007 if they are any use to you. If you want, yell!
