Driver Hours. The drivers who already signed the 47s were on all week helping those who hadn't. They did stints at driving, then watching/route learning.

Cheers for that,I also asked around today and was told it was to learn the diversion via dinsdale to darlington and then mainline to york ?

No Problem.
I'm back on tomorrow, will be another long day, starting with a TPE to Newcastle at 07:30, then if our train is not in the platform, the 08:30 Northern to Sunderland to get on it there.
If I can't get off early, then I won't get home till gone 10pm

I got phone call from GCT today advising their public launch may be changed to Sunday 23 September, and did this change cause me any problems
Oh dear, not a problem for me
They will be phoning me again on Friday morning with confirmation

Here we go again,another start date delayed,how much longer is this going to go on for,I can see a lot of people starting to become very disappointed with GC and their proposed launch dates,god knows what the staff are making of all this ! I see the training train only made it as far as peterborough yesterday thanks once again to the durham coast scrap metal merchants ! :roll:

Two of the HST sets have now passed their inspection and will be ready for the public launch, after service trials next week
The HST power cars will be transported by road over the next two weeks from Plymouth to Toton

The DRS 47s and Mk3 will be used until Saturday 25 August
From Tuesday 28 August one of the GCT HST should be ready for use

The third and final HST will be ready just in time, but will leave GCT with no spare set in the first week of operation, but there will be a spare HST power car at Heaton just in case

Dont know who's feeding you info m8internet but some of it is incorrect my friend,I have spoken to several GC staff today and they tell me that the DRS set will be used on tuesday from heaton to sunderland and then york where GC management will meet the train,the DRS set will then return home to Oxley.There will be NO GC HST ready for use from 28/08/07 !!!

I should have added to my previous post....Good evening Sir Clagalot,I see you only got as far as york today,the durham coast scrap metallers and a problem with 47237's thermostat causing the problems,god help you round the coast when you do start running trains my friend if these thieves are in attendance !!!

I was looking at doing the ECML York to Kings Cross with GNER , and MML St Pancras to Sheffield on weekday in September, but may alter it if a better deal can ever be booked with GC.

It's 80% likely that'll go with GNER though, after there very good performance last Monday from Aberdeen, in FC.

Two of the power cars need to get by road from Plymouth to Toton for Monday morning
DRS already have other commitments for their Mk3 set and 47s from Tuesday and so are not available to GCT
All the staff are now trained to the minimum requirement, the train was an integral part, but had not proved as reliable as it should have been, and allowed the practical training to be completed

Any and all tickets are being sold direct by Grand Central Trains
Their online booking system is ready, but is not open to the public (as required by the ORR)
Their train has to make one proving run, which is planned for 09 September
Bookings can then be made after this date on their website

It is upto m8internat if he wishes to name his sources of information, but from the information I have been provided, I don't believe this is in anyones best interests. The reason is that the sources could be compromised in the media for disclosing some information.

The reason I have deleted several posts from this topic is to stop the wrong people from getting hold of the information in them, and using it to their advantage. As I have said in another post, you never know who lurks on this (and other) forums, to see what has been posted.

I do apologise for the info I posted last week (which, it was probably a day early), but I reposted most of it

I do agree that DML do not like any information or photographs about on-going contracts (MoD sensitive?!), so I believe the information I reposted makes that position also a little clearer
However, my source at GCT clarified that they had visited this week and two power cars had been completed and NR inspected, with another two due for completion next week
All four will make their way to Toton by road, starting next week

Marcroft Engineering on the other hand were more than happy to discuss what stage the refurbishment of the Mark 3a coaches had progressed to, without giving any contract specific information, and this included details that some had also been completed and passed NR inspections, some were nearing completion, although a final batch wouldn't be ready for at least 4 weeks (as at last week)

GCT are hoping that one HST set will be ready at Toton by Tuesday 28 with the other by 03 September, the final one by 10 September
