Time scale from medical to training

Just wondering if anyone can advise. I have been told (August) that I have been successful with all assessments and following a successful medical can be looking to start my train driver training in February; apparently I am NOT in a pool (hope things stay this way!) The company I currently work for require at least 6 weeks notice and due to my commitments wish to honour this to the best of my ability. Any ideas when I can expect to hear about my medical? I don't want to hassle HR and understand I should be content with sitting and waiting, - which in part I am. I know that the offer could suddenly be put on hold, as I have read on other threads - obviously I won't hand in my notice until I get the actually offer. I'll happily wait patiently but was just wondering if anyone has been in this position recently that can offer some advice. Thanks.

Newster, when I completed my medical for a trainee train driver I formally heard back that I passed the medical exactly 1 week later. Six days after this I received a contract in the post from the TOC, to which I signed and sent back in the post immediately. Nine weeks later I began training school.

You state you were told that you were successful and are not in a pool and due to start in February. Was this in writing or verbal?

If it was in writing you can go direct back to those who told you and ask.

Just received the email I've been waiting for. I have my medical on December 6th!
