Time between applications

Hello everyone, I recently applied for the recent Scotrail trainee driver vacancies, along with 22k other people. I was hoping that if I wasn't successful with this I would be able to apply for other positions with different companies but i'd heard you need to wait 6 months - is that correct?
Also how can I find out what other train or freight companies operate near me? I live in Linlithgow which is between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Does Direct Rail still have a depot in Grangemouth?

Hi FS,

If you are shortlisted with Scotrail and fail stage 1 or 2 of the Train Drivers Assessments then you cant apply to any company for 6 months.

If you pass your assessments but don't get any further you have to wait 6 months with Scotrail only. You can apply to any other company and your Assessment pass may be accepted by them.

DRS still have a depot at Grangemouth as far as I know but have not taken on trainee's for a while .

Thanks for that, So if I don't hear from Scotrail - they say they'll only contact successful candidates, I can apply straight away to someone else? (although options are limited) I've heard the Freightliner depot at Dunbar has been taken over by Colas Rail, do you know if they take on trainee drivers?
