Tickets Required for Transpennine Ale Trail

I was wondering if one of you kind people would be kind enough to suggest a suitable ticket for the Transpennine Ale Trail (Itinerary Below).

This isn't for me but for someone else, but any suggestions most appreciated.

Instead of starting at Stalybridge they may not join the group until Marsden, so could anyone of you suggest a suitable ticket for that as well.

The person it's for does not hold a rail card.

Edit: scrap that, there's no point faffing about. As there's no doubling-back, nor deviating from a permitted route, you may as well get the straight through York-Stalybridge 'CDR' ticket. It's no cheaper to "split".

Can you tell me what would be required to start at Marsden rather than Stalybridge?
I'm confused as to whether there would be any doubling back or not?

Would the £18.50 OFF-PEAK DAY R be suitable?

Doubling back is passing through the same station twice in one journey.

If you break your journey and continue it later in a linear fashion (as shown in your opening post), there will be no doubling back. The York-Marsden Off Peak Day Return would be suitable for that.
