Tickets delivered by SMS

About to book a ticket with Wrexham & Shropshire railways. And am certainly looking forward to a bit of first class indulgence

You can either have your ticket delivery by email or text. I like the novelty and ease of a ticket by text. But nowhere on either W&SR or their parent Chiltern site, can I find and explanation on what happens if you loose/delete your text-ticket.

Can you have the text message ticket sent again ?

No! If your battery runs out, you are also liable to buy a new ticket!

When you get it, just forward it to yourself so there are 2 copies in your inbox, and one in your 'sent' box.

Could also save it in your Drafts for extra safe keeping, and maybe to a friend who could forward it to you if necessary?

I forwarded my SMS ticket to my partner's phone, so we had two copies of the barcode image. It's just as well, as I let mine process GPS signals all day and had a dead battery come the evening!

I take it, therefore, those of us using normal mobile phones, and not phones with everything but the kitchen sink on them, would not be able to use SMS ticketing, if they use barcodes?

Presumably if your phone supports MMS messages (with pictures etc in) then it should work fine.
I think most phones now support MMS, unless they're the £10 from Tesco ones.

Mine's a Nokia 1112, can't do MMS because it's a few years old now.

When I used it, I did the e-mail option and opened the e-mail on my iPhone... that way I had several back-ups! Phone, webmail, laptop mail, printout etc

I too have a mobile phone that is just that - a phone I can use when mobile. No camera, MP3, GPS, MMS, ABC, XYZ etc etc.

I Prefer the 'print at home' option with WSMR.

So if you have loose/delete the SMS, you cannot have the message redelivered to your phone ?

Think ticket by email is best.
