Ticketing for tmmr Euston- Birmingham

Was planning on going up to England v Pakistan tmmr. Given the Old Soar incident if I try and go up early with my non protected Priv am I likely to find all reservations cancelled and the trains a complete bun fight?

You will be travelling against the peak flow so while there may be some extra passengers I don't think it will be rammed.

It's engineering works all week and the line is completely shut between Bicester and Leamington with rail replacement buses operating.

Yes, you are right. The National Rail site isn't very helpful as it claims Chiltern are operating a "Good Service" which is rather misleading as while they may be operating the planned timetable it is a long way from their normal service.

I would have thought the closure of a main route out of London would be given a much higher profile on the NRE site, instead it is hidden away amongst 25 other minor engineering works going on this week, most of which only affect a few late night trains.
