Good morning,
I want to confirm with the experts here that this is a valid trip.
My friend is travelling from Blackpool North to London Euston on Monday with an off peak return.

Now he wants to catch the 1001 train from Preston to Euston and the journey planner says to catch the 0919 from Blackpool North to Preston and change which gives him 19 minutes connection time.
However, he doesn't trust the reliability of the services between Blackpool North and Preston so wants to know if the ticket is valid on the 0905 service instead of the recommended 0919 train.
I believe it is as the restriction 2C only says that the train must arrive into London Euston after 1130.
However, I'm not sure if the gateline staff at Blackpool North will allow it as they are have a bit of a reputation there lol.
Thank you

My understanding is that the ticket will not be restricted on trains that do not call at London Euston. It also isn't possible to get an earlier train from Preston if using the 0905 service.

I think if you want to force a connection, on trainsplit you can enter a minimum connection time at a station to force a different service to show up.

This is perfectly valid. The only restriction on using trains from Blackpool North is on the handful of direct services to London.
