Just listening to Yorkshire Radio, waiting on the Leeds game to kick off and they are reporting delays between Leeds and Huddersfield due to signalling problems. Following this they announced tickets were being accepted on Cross Country services. Am I right in thinking this implies a Leeds to Manchester ticket that is valid "any route" would be accepted on XC via Birmingham or via Sheffield as these are the only 2 logical routes I can see that would lead to XC accepting these tickets. Anyone able to clear this up?
There is no mention of XC accepting tickets on the National Rail site.

As the trains from Manchester are being delayed they probably mean Leeds - York - Newcastle etc.
