Hello all. I bought advance tickets on transpennine express' website from manchester to barrow in furness thinking I'd paid £3.70 outward and £4.70 return for my journey as stated on my booking confirmation. However £6.95 and £4.25 is stated on the tickets, 2.80 more.

Should I be worried about this? I'm travelling within the next hour, is it worth checking my bank account to see if I've been overcharged?

I used ftp express' student promotion if that makes any difference.

Thanks

Tom

I noticed that the first time I bought through TPE's student promo - still checked my balance to see if they had overcharged me or not. They hadn't, but I'd still like to see the actual price printed on the ticket to make sure. If EC can do if for their promotions I don't see why TPE cannot.

Yeah I checked my balance but I was slightly worried. Oh well, £8.40 to travel that distance is very good. Very few people on any train I was on north of Manchester, not everyone wants to travel on a BHM I suppose, I was watching nonleague football :$ :)

Last time I did Barrow - Piccadilly had to change at Lancaster - no-one on the Barrow - Lancaster TPE and everyone and their mother on the Lancaster - Manc TPE. Shame the Barrow train wasn't direct.

I did it with the 1743 out of Barrow (ground on Rakesmoor Lane, 2 miles out of town!!), it was a Northern service Class 153 single unit with 4 people on, stopped at Ulverston and Carnforth only. Terminated and changed at Lancaster ( the 153 joining a 2 car Morecambe service) I waited for the 1852 to Manchester, a very empty service from Windermere and had most of a carriage to myself.

Saying the 1115 train out to Barrow was very badly filled as well, no problems with seats, had a table to myself the entire way there!
