As an aside, I have just had to travel from Long Buckby, (the fourth visit in eight days), and the machine has been out of service every time...

I happened to be passing through Long Buckby yesterday (by car) so took a look. TVM definitely not working, it looks like a screen problem - although it's completely unreadable I suspect the TVM might actually not be off line.

If it's been out of order for so long why don't LM attach a notice adising passengers what to do or is that too simple?

I've just tried to collect a TOD and the machine printed the outward travel portion and then came up with an error message about the seat reservation... also leaving me without my return ticket and seat reservation.

The person at the station window said that his machine said that the tickets had been printed so he could not help me.

I now await a reply to my complaint with Virgin West Coast who sold me the tickets.

I travel in April.

Simon

Go back to the ticket office- they should be able to reprint the tickets, even if they say that they've been issued, upon you signing an indemnity form, admitting responsibility if its found that they didn't print.

As you've got the outward portion only, then you should be ok.
