Ticket Choice Help

I need some help, I want to travel from Paddington to Ealing Broadway but then I need to go to Hayes & Harlington. Is it cheaper to use oyster from Paddington to Ealing Broadway and buy a ticket at Ealing Broadway to Hayes & Harlington. All stations are in London. Paddington = Zone 1, Ealing Broadway = Zone 3 and Hayes & Harlington = Zone 5. If you have a cheaper way of traveling

Is Paddington your origin station or are you actually travelling from elsewhere?

A CDR to Hayes & Harlington is £5 (assuming off-peak as it's not specified), this is only £1.20 more than the CDR to Ealing Broadway (£3.80). The price of Hayes & Harlington to Ealing Broadway is £3.30.

I am sure PAYG (let's get away from saying "use Oyster" as Oyster is a medium not a ticket ) will be more than 85p each way. So, it seems to make sense to buy a through ticket and break your journey at Ealing Broadway.

It's not a very cheap fare, it's a 21.6 mile round trip. Also, assuming off peak, if you're doing another trip on the day it'll be cheaper to get a 1 day z1-6 Travelcard.

According to TfL it's £2.50... (or £2 if going on a weekend or early/late)

It is £1 if you have a 16-17 or New Deal card and go at a weekend or early/late on a weekday.

I recommend stating any discount cards you have for any fares query so we can give you the best advice possible. Also worth mentioning the approx times of the journey as peak and off peak fares and rules vary.

I actually have an 11-15 Oyster photocard so it is 50p now I think
