If travelling after 0930 Monday-Friday, All day Saturday, Sunday or PH use a Metro DayRover for travel within West Yorkshire. Adult Train only DayRover costs £5.30 and is available to purchase at the station on day of travel. Details here :- http://*******.com/dbmjet

This will get you to Wakefield Wakefield (Express Train) or South Elmsall (stopping train). Day Return Wakefield-Doncaster £7.70; South Elmsall-Doncaster £2.50.

Yes bear in mind with this option the service you will only be able to catch the Northern stoppers as your train will need to stop at South Elmsall for this combination to be valid.

Thanks very much!

Would I be able to use my WYPTE half fare pass when buying a day ranger?

Young Persons (aged 11-16)
The Young Persons PhotoCard is a laminated PhotoCard showing the expiry date and a photograph of the holder.

The colour of this concessionary travel pass is Purple.

Concessionary fare entitlement

Young People aged 11 - 16 do not need to prove on they qualify half price Anytime Day (SD), Off Peak Day (CD), Season Tickets and Concessionary Train DayRover tickets for rail journeys between stations wholly within the West Yorkshire PTE area as indicated by the shaded area shown on the map click here.

However on buses in West Yorkshire they do need this pass to qualify for
the appropriate half price rate.

Scholars (aged 16-19)

The Scholars PhotoCard is a laminated PhotoCard showing the expiry date and a photograph of the holder.

The colour of this concessionary travel pass is Yellow.

Concessionary fare entitlement

On presentation of the Scholars PhotoCard the holder is entitled to use half price Anytime Day (SD), Off Peak Day (CD), Season Tickets and Concessionary Train DayRover tickets for rail journeys between stations wholly within the West Yorkshire PTE area as indicated by the shaded area shown on the map click here and for the full length of cross boundary services which start or finish in West Yorkshire.

So short answer yes if you have a Young Persons or Scholar WYPTE photocard.

Yes, you can use the Concession DayRover with a WYPTE Scholar Photocard, but you need to be aged 5~15 to qualify for 1/2 price Child Rail Ticket (Wakefield/South Elmsall - Doncaster).

I think you will have to ask Metro. http://www.wymetro.com

The July 2008 edition of the West Yorkshire DayRover leaflet said that a Train only DayRover could then be bought at the child price by a "concessionary passenger", but this is now out of date, the up-to-date leaflet does not appear to be on the Metro web site, and and a "half fare pass holder" does not appear on the list of concessionary passengers, which was:

Child age 5 - 15
Senior Permit holder
Scholar Permit holder
Disabled Permit holder
Metro SchoolCard holder
MetroRover holder
Dog
