Questioning, whether or not it is recognised by others, that in general, the series is actually quite a bad influence, and as such, what with the rise of consciousness and mindfulness among society, the programme in its current form could in actual fact become a hindrance to preservation movement events, as a result of the corrupt nature.

Are you able to expand? Because I'm not entirely sure what you're driving at at the moment! What does the rise of mindfulness, for instance, have to do with Thomas & Friends and how would that hinder the preservation movement and where does corruption come into this?

Frankly speaking, the Television Series ought to be certified PG (Parental Guidance).

As for corruption.... Relatively speaking, I can conclude that the television series was a mediator to myself telling lies generally, as well as bad behaviour.

Well I thought "Thomas and Friends" was a factual fly-on-the-wall documentary about British railway management

The presentation movement has evolved over many years, and it may be said that years ago certain heritage lines could rely upon simply the numbers of people, as they provided something quite cheaply. Now though, I consider it a fact that when they go out for the day, more and more it's not about the price of the day out, it's about the aspect of a quality day out whereby the whole family for instance have had such a great day out, the kids don't stop going on about it until the parents have maybe searched and inquired about, maybe even pre-booked for the next day out.

So you're bemoaning the evolution of some preservation organisations from cheap amateur hobbyist restoration sites to more professional historical recreation displays?

The point is, is that in all honesty, Thomas & Friends TV Series (over the years) has been a bad influence upon society, not good one.!
As such, it could be that people become either conscious of the fact, or mindful as to not allow their children to watch, and as such get involved. So, is It possible that a change in the nature of the programme is in the long term necessary to secure its future.

I reckon the impact of Thomas & Friends on society has been fairly low key and certainly isn't a cause of any societal ills. Gambling on the other hand, the pervasiveness of gambling adverts I reckon has been. Thomas & Friends less so. Unless you can point to something more specific?

I guess insight can only be sought by analysis of figures and data over the years from the lines themselves. And possibly even some recognition by others that the television series is a mediator to bad behaviour.... Obviously that's not a concern to everyone, as many people have no concerns about bad behaviour.... But, it could be putting off others who may be prepared to pay a substantial amount for a substantially great day out.

With all respect, you've stated that several times but it's not obvious to those of us reading the thread why you believe that, so it's difficult to have a constructive discussion about it.

Could you give some examples of how you feel it is harming either rail preservation or society more broadly? For example...
Frankly speaking, the Television Series ought to be certified PG (Parental Guidance).
what happens in the programme that you feel is unsuitable for a young audience?

You may consider that a fact, but that doesn’t mean to say everybody else does.

One could also go as far as to state that in its current form Thomas & Friends TV Series has over the years been the cause for some being stigmatized by they're social group, and as such ultimately alienated and ostracized by them.

I mean surely the real corruption at play here is what happened in Shed 17...
