It's almost a rare event to see someone paying cash for a bus fare in London these days.

For info: About 2% of fares are cash.
Does that include cash fares purchased at roadside ticket machines? (Buses in the West End and on certain other routes don't accept cash on board at all. If you want to pay in cash, you have buy it from a ticket machine at the bus stop.)

Most likely, it would cost the same as a standard cash fare.

No, that's just cash fares on board.

It seems to depend on the model and/or specification ordered. I didn't think they had keys either but Bath's Darts do.

What that man said. Although I have known older vehicles to have keys glued into the vehicles. 9 times out of 10 it will be switches though.

Depends. A majority of vehicles I have seen built after 2005 dont have keys on a engine start button etc.

Mind you there are a lot of older low floor vehicles which still require a very small key to be pluuged in before pressing the engine start button on the dashboard.
