Can anyone recomend any good pubs/restaurants in the above area (walking distance from the stations)?

Walk to Hellifield and ponder over what once was, visit the large station cafe with memorabilia.

A man after my own heart. I always have a soft spot for these abandoned (& not so abandoned) country junctions. Hellifield is on the list, however I am travelling with a pal & he is more into his ale than old railway buildings ~ if there is a decent pub (or not so decent - he's a Tennants/Carling man!<() there that may change, however.

I would loved to have seen Hellifield in its heyday.

Sounds good to me, I've traced my family back to Giggleswick in the 1600's. Some of them went on to work on the Settle to Carlisle rail line. A beautiful place to stay, you're very lucky mate. :D
