If its asleep please don't wake it up because it isn't worth the ear-piercing screaming

I know somebody who doesn't like kids! With a baby brother like mine, believe me, its always easier to leave em in. I don't appreciate you saying he has a ear piercing scream either :D ;)

Thats reminded me of another annoying thing:
When the baby is screaming so loud and the mother just sits there and does nothing to try and comfort it or whatever.

I love babies, but in scenarios like ^ they get annoying :)

People who board train with no intention to buy a ticket unless caught then ask for help getting their bikes off

Yes, screaming babies which are ignored are very annoying.

If the baby is being attended to but cannot be silenced then fair enough, but at least try to shut it up!

I've got one.

The other day at work. On Tuesday we went out to start a new install in Leicster (Lighting bars, sound and projector systems) our van was full, so we couldn't fit a scaffold tower in, besides there wasn't one at base anyway.

Arrangements was supposed to have been made on Monday about hiring one to be delivered to the job site at 8am Tuesday. We arrived on site at about 8 and there was no sign of scaffold. We decided to chase it up, hire company told us a booking hadn't been made, just an enquirey for us to collect one. We had to explain that we couldn't pick it up, our van was full when we left in the morning and we couldn't leave the job site. So we had to make the booking ourselves, for them to deliver the scaffold to site. They did, but at what time? It would have been about 1pm. At least.

So we'd lost half a day on an install that should take around 8 days, but for various reasons we have got to get finished in 4.

Oh the joys

Anyway thats my rant over

Oh yeah, one more thing. Big Brother.

No I don't watch the programe and never have intended to. At long last it's the last series (Well supposed to be, they did say the same thing about several of the previous series), but get it off the air already and stop dragging it on by adding more and more people into the house. Like these previous 'favorite' housemates. Many of which are now famous faces for quite literaly doing naff all. Just going in that house.

I'd guess that the "main line" is whatever is the fastest, most frequent and best associated direct route for a point-to-point service, in the abovementioned case being FGW's Paddington - Reading - (Berksy) - Taunton - Tiverton Parkway - Exeter - Plymouth - Penzance service. Whatever the rulebook says. ;)

As per FGW timetable, for weekdays, the only PAD-PNZ service that goes through BRI is the 7:30 HST departure, all the other high speed services go via the "other route". Annoying.

Time for a few of mine:

People in supermarkets who don't control the trolley and leave it blocking the aisle

People waiting for buses etc who have ample time to get money out then hold up the rest of the queue when buying a ticket as they fanny on with their purse/wallet

The talkative person who talks to everyone that gets onto the bus. Most of them would probably talk to a mirror they are that stupid

People who walk in a row and expect you to move out of the way

People who don't say thank you when you hold open a door/let them out in traffic.

To summarise - people in general annoy me! (Well not all of them ;) )

Conductors on trains that are already late dithering around doing revenue duties when the train is stood in the platform rather than opening the doors.

The elderly in their masses all walking very slowly several abreast down a path or in a shop so you can't get past.

People in wheelchairs/with pushchairs ramming your ankles.

Crappy cheap PERTIS machines that are a con to try and get bumper penalty fares, without investing in a proper machine, or staff, but are so regularly out of order, yet you still have to check every day to see if it's been fixed to not have a £20 fare hanging over you.

Quite a lot!!!

Firstly, people who do anything slowly, but don't make allowances for others who want to do things quickly. I mean, ambling slowly along the middle of a passageway on the Tube when you're in a hurry to get somewhere, or driving along the roads at 40mph when the speed limit is 60, or hogging the middle lane on a motorway at 60.

Secondly, those who think the rules simply don't apply to them. E.g., making a phonecall from the quiet coach, listening to music in the quiet coach, cycling on a crowded pavement, etc.

Thirdly, "Train station". It's a "Railway station", you plonkers!!!

Just as the speed limit is 60 mph doesn't mean it's safe to do 60 mph, 40 mph may be the hightest safe speed for some de-restricted roads. On a motorways the speed limit is 70 mph so if there is someone in lane 2 at 60 mph then move to lane 3 to overtake at 70 mph.

Pillocks playing crap music REALLY LOUD through their phones on buses and trains, and people that think that because they have headphones in, it is similarly ok to play music through them so everyone within 20 yards can hear it anyway.

People who think that "patriotism" begins and ends with football, and haven't the faintest clue about the country's heritage, history and culture.

People who walk along pavements three abreast and force you to step out into the road to pass them. Even worse, people who can obviously SEE YOU COMING and then seem to change their trajectory to walk into you...

Mothers with pushchairs who seem intent on driving the pushchair at your shins for no good reason

White van drivers and there ilk who think it is there "right" to drive at 90-100mph on the motorway, and hence bully any driver in front who happens to be in the fast lane and doing about 80 by driving really close behind them whilst flashing the headlights...

Simon Cowell. Actually, lets expand that: Reality TV shows like X Factor and Big Brother: I've never watched them, just the fact that they exist is enough to irritate me.

People who think that "rave" and "trance" somehow constitutes music...

People who call a RAILWAY station a "train station"

Pale, ill looking chavs walking about like gangsters with their baseball caps on back to front: You're WHITE, you drive a CORSA and you live in MANSFIELD for christ's sake...

Motorway lane 2 hoggers, when the slow lane is completely empty

Errrr...That'll probably do for the time being. Just so you know, after all that, I have often been accused of being too upbeat! I don't dwell on these sorts of things, I like to concentrate on the good stuff, of which there is absolutely oodles :D

At least then there's usually space to squeeze through somewhere with a bit of bravado...

Aahh, Earl's Court District station in the morning, train waiting on the platform with doors open, a young woman in front walking down these narrow steps e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y slowly, no space to pass. Somehow I had resigned to missing that particular train and didn't even ask her to hurry up or stand aside (she would have reacted to that at a glacier's pace anyway) - doors closed and the train pulled away. A single swearing word emitted. :-x Even at a normal walking speed, there would have been no problem to make it. Rant off.

Yes but it is completely unnecessary to remain in lane 2 at 60 if the slow lane is completely clear, as in these cases it often is. If you get a few people doing this sort of thing you can start to have the beginnings of a congested road; it reduces the road capacity.
