It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we have to inform members that one of the forum's regular posters, thefab444 - real name John Slatter, passed away suddenly on September 22nd. He was a personal friend to quite a few members, and his death has come as a great shock to all of us. John died just over a week before his 19th birthday, and was about to start university.

May he Rest In Peace.

Never met him personally but I did enjoy his posts.

All very sad and far too young ,are you able to inform as to the unfortunate circumstances at all?

I also never met him but nearly always found his posts to be either interesting or at least adding to the conversation at hand.

He shall be missed.

Unfortunately we don't know the full circumstances of his passing - so out of respect to John and his family, it would be appreciated if questions about it or speculation can be avoided please.

I'm deeply saddened to read this news. Despite having never met John, he was a major contributor to the forum, and I shall certainly miss his contributions. I offer my condolences to his family at this difficult and sad time.

RIP

I didn't know him but I did find his posts to be very well-informed.

Dreadful news - thoughts with his family and friends. A reminder of how precious life is.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else (I too have never had the chance to meet him) - such a tragedy to lose someone, and especially someone as young as John.

Thoughts with his family and friends.

contributer particularly to the automated announcements communitty where like in all other areas he wil be missed. Its a mark of how much he thought of us that whoever, be it friend, familly or other forum member took the time to let us know. RIP!
