I was travelling from Theale today for the first time. I noticed the rather overgrown platform 3 on the goods loop. I understand it was built for step free access to rail replacement buses. However given the general state of the platform, is it still used? It retains signage, but the old First Great Western type, whereas the other two platforms are GWR branded.

Fair question. Is anything ever booked to call or pass through the goods line alongside Theale platform 3?
Theale platform 3 is only used for terminating trains during engineering work. It is regularly used for both the cement and aggregate terminal and the fuel terminal.
