I'm sure many of you are familiar with it. It's a great resource for a wide range of interesting topics so I definitely appreciate the information on there. I typically use it for the Electrification Dates and Overhead Line Neutral Section lists.
However it seems to have undergone some kind of update recently that's kind of harmed the functionality of the site.

The main issue is that the search function on all the various lists just doesn't work at all. I know you can just use ctrl+f but the search function was really useful for condensing the whole list down to just the entries matching the search term. Whereas with ctrl+f you're still looking at the full list so it's not as convenient.

The other thing I noticed was that at least the electrification pages don't have navigating links at the top to get around the electrification pages or the wider site at all which is also a downgrade.

I'm not sure if anyone knows who's in charge of the website, but those are my thoughts!

I have no idea why but all 'server side include' (SSI) functions stopped working last weekend (8/9 August). The top navbar, most page navigation link lists, the filters, etc., are all presented in this manner. Contact with the host was less than helpful; apparently it has to be a coding problem (even though nothing has changed...), 'no one else has a problem', they refused even to consider the possibility that there could be a hiccup their end. Given there are over 4,000 pages I don't want to add the missing coding manually to each one.

Unimpressed by this and previous statements about being unable to do https (and this is a big supplier), I have decided to move the site to an alternative provider. The files are already duplicated on the new host and testing shows full functionality. I am now in the process of transferring the domain name, which I understand from the old host can take typically around a week.

When the transfer is complete (and I am at the mercy of others here!), the only changes you should notice are a) functionality is restored and b) there will be https.

Meanwhile, I apologise for awkwardness in using the site. This should be a temporary blip. Please bear with me!

One day or another I ought to send in a list regarding neutral sections not yet added but just haven't gotten round to it.

I had a similar thing happen on my website a few years ago, parts of it just stopped working for no reason. The hosting company finally admitted it was a problem and discovered they had upgraded one of the libraries on their server and it had broken a few things. Ended up being a 5 minutes fix, once they bothered to look lol.
