A bumper upload to http://thewanderersirishrailphotos.fotopic.net/c1525658.html in the early hours of this morning, from yesterdays grice from Portarlington to Kerry vai Cork and Cobh.

Highlights from todays modern railcar scene:

2721 + 2720 at Limerixk Jct.

22026 and 219 at Thurles.

More 2600 & 2700 DMU's at Cork, Cobh and Mallow.

218 on a Cement at Mallow.

Hybrid 2716 + 2609 on the Kerry line.

MK3 Push / Pull with 224 on Mallow - Tralee services.

Today grice from Portarlington to Killarney via Cobh covered 5 trains, only one of them loco hauled between Thurles and Cork. The Irish Railway scene is changing fast! If you like loco hauled get out and about before its to late!!!

The weather for the most of the day wasn't kind, but a enjoyable road trip was still had, taking in Nenagh, Sixmilebridge and various locations on the Western Rail Corridor showing the ongoing rebuilding work. The highlight of the day had to be catching 22018 + 22025 operating a trial train from Limerick to Nenagh. The relay train on the WRC proved more elusive to catch, eventually being tracked down near Ardrahan.

- Pictures from last Sunday's trip to Galway to sample Class 29000's on their only Southern & Western division long distance working, soon to be replaced by Class 22000 Intercity DMU's.

Units 22034 & 22035 were delivered to Iarnrod Eireann on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th July through Belview Port. Unit 22034 was hauled to Limerick Junction on the Monday by 144, while on the following day 22035 was hauled from Belview Port to Laois Train Care Depot by 141.

just a quick question about LUAS if you dont mind, there are two seperate lines that do not interconnect, but iirc they share the same depot is there a e.c.s line between the two as i cant find any info about this thanks in advance.

No, the two lines are completly seperate, each with their own depot. The Red line which runs between Tallaght and Connolly in the city centre has its depot at the Red Cow. The control centre for both lines is also located here. The Green line runs between St. Stephens Green in the city centre to Sandyford to the south. The green line depot is located at Sandyford. There are plans to connect the two line with an extension of the Green line from St. Stephens Green to Liffey Junction to the north of the city centre. This would intersect the Red line at O'Connell Street where passengers could then change to the Red line at the Abbey Street stop.
