W & D Optare 2681 was on the Blue Star 6 this evening to Lymington ...I have seen another [2682?] as well.

Manic evening with WD this evening!!

How about this Saturday? The X3's were all over the place with the accident on Wessex Way closing down the main route in/out of town. Massive delays and all, and according to a driver, they put out two buses from Poole with relief crew and routed them somewhere exotic (I didn't quite catch that bit) as quite a few buses got stuck in the gridlock all heading out of town.

If your saying mini, yes, a Dart, a Dennis Minidart MPD!

Yet another W & D Optare on the 6 today, so does that mean that it is officially shared between W&D and BS, or is it just that they use anything available in Lymington? Haven't seen a double-decker on it for a while though. In fact I have seen just one blue-painted double-decker that could have been ex-W&D.


As an aside does anyone know if the Totton College-liveried double- and single-deckers [one of each] are Wilts & Dorset or Blue Star?

A new long version low-floor Dennis Dart, but with traditional bus seats, unit no 3205 has joined the WD fleet a fortnight ago, cascaded from Brighton&Hove.

If anyone has observed or observes this unit, please let me know by replying to this topic!!!

It now seems that there are two D-Ders in Totton College livery.

The 6 now has regular D-Ders as I gather trees have been cut back.

Sounds interesting, which type of Dart exactly is this? The only 'big' Darts I knew of at B&H were their early mid-90's Pointers, is this one of those?

I'm suprised they're cascading those, they're ancient! For a Dart they must be pretty much at their Sell-By date by now, even if B&H have looked after them!

The ones I'm thinking of are; one of these?:

According to the B&H site, they currently have 10 of these on the books, nos 202-204, 206-210, 212 & 215; N202 NNJ etc. They date from 1996 and are early Dart SLF's with the original low floor Plaxton Pointer body. Just about the eldest motors B&H still have running now!

Website also lists three batches of Mini Pointer Darts; W-reg 240-245, X-reg 246/7, and T-reg 248/9.

There are also a random pair of these:

...which I wasn't aware of, so it could be one of those?! There were some of the previous step entrance Pointer/Darts still going as trainers, but it appears even they've gone now, replaced by Wright/Volvo B10BLEs (far too good for training buses IMHO!). Interesting that the latest delivery of 'deckers are Volvo/Wright, so it seems B&H have dumped Scania after all these years, which is very odd considering that all the other Go South Coast fleets have just started buying OmniDeckers!
