With Virgin diverting via this route into Euston, over the next few weekends anything stopping me using a Super Off Peak Return route via High Wycombe?

Sorry I've not been around much recently.

Tell them to come back as you pass through High Wycombe and try to suggest your ticket isn't valid?

When TPE were diverting via Rochdale when we had the Stalybridge blockade, I used a Route Hebden Bridge ticket and had no issues

When are you travelling? It should be possible to obtain an itinerary (feel free to PM me if you don't want to reveal it in the forum).

NRCoC 13(d)(i) states "The use of some tickets may be restricted to trains which take routes passing through... particular locations... These restrictions will be shown on the ticket."

In this case, there are tickets that are restricted to trains which take routes passing through High Wycombe, and this is stated on the ticket.

As long as the train passes through High Wycombe, that condition is satisfied.

Virgin Trains TMs are fully trained on this and ensure that you will be relaxed and enjoy travelling with Virgin Trains. They all have a forward-thinking approach and full training is provided. They all posses fantastic customer service skills and give brilliant customer service. (source)

In fact the training is second to none (source), so obviously includes knowledge of 13(d)(i) so you have nothing to worry about. Relax!

I saw a poster that said this weekend Virgin Trains services from Euston this weekend will only be available to customers holding seat reservations, however I can't see it listed on the special webpage on the VT website [which confusingly refers to the Watford Gap despite the work actually taking place some 50 Miles to the south of Watford Gap]. http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/updates/route-improvements/euston-watford-gap/. I'm not sure whether the poster was just trying to put people off or what the case is.

One of the leaflets linked to from that page however says ''..an hourly service between London Euston, Coventry and Birmingham International. These will run over a different route, via High Wycombe...'' http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/assets/pdf/disruption/leaflet_watford_9-11_16-18_august.pdf.
