The Tube Strike

Did I miss the/any discussion about the strike? I didn't know if you people touched on that or not. In NYC, it has been a law since the 1970's that a strike is not legal by MTA employees. Labor laws are very complex and hard to talk about without emotion and possibly bias or even family connections.

At least London and New York have viable mass-transit. I will be moving to another apartment complex on the first of August. It is less that 6 miles from here and I will be no closer to trasnit that I am now. The closest I'll have to that is the front seat of my Chrysler PTCruiser.

The London strike was in my opinion Political, agreement was so close, the strike should have been called off. The moderate ASLEF union said so.

However Mr Crow the Union (think of teamsters US) RMT official is so left wing he was delighted to have a striike, he blamed everyone as he sat in his
Cuba Revolution sweat shirt answering questions.

As 3 million are out of work in the UK, this guy calls a strike after 5% was on the table, yet inflation is 0%.

You obviously don't know what the strike is about. The issue of pay was settled. It then boiled down to compulsory redundancies and the non honouring of agreements. It is said that an agreement was reached and then it was withdrawn by LUL. Rumour has it that the word to do so came from TfL or City Hall!

Also, Bob Crow does not call a strike. The Executive Committee does. Members then vote.

ASLEF seem to have it in for the RMT at the moment. It may be due to them losing members to the RMT! They don't seem to do much anymore and if they do it's always the opposite to the RMT. Even TSSA have more balls!
