After a nice walk in Shirebrook Park, we board the 1437 Bowers route 393 to Glossop (Henry Street) (near Glossop railway station if that helps), arriving there at 1445 on Monday afternoon.

We go out of the railway station to the bus stop outside in some trepidation, as this is the famous Royston Vasey of TV fame, but we wait at the bus stop only a short time before boarding the 1735 Stagecoach Manchester service 237 to Mottram (Roe Cross Road) that arrives at 1750 on Monday afternoon

We take the 18:25 First Manchester route 387 to Tameside General Hospital, arriving 18:49 Monday

There are quite a few services that serve the hospital so we do not wait too long to board the 1901 Stagecoach Manchester service 231 that arrives at Ashton under Lyne bus station at 1909 on Monday evening

Not long to wait at the Boyds Walk/King Street stop to board the 1935 Stagecoach Manchester service 330 that arrives in Stockport Bus Station at 2009 on Monday evening

We take the 20:30 Stagecoach route 310 to Boundary Bridge arrving 20:43 Monday

We then continue our travels in Greater Manchester and board the 2052 Stagecoach Manchester route 371 to Altrincham Interchange, arriving there at 2119 on Monday evening.

WE then board the 2146 NT to Chester, arriving 2245 Monday evening.

We then check into a beautiful hotel in Chester, lovely for a nice night, and we have a drink in the bar before having a good night's sleep and on the next morning board 1V51, Arriva Trains Wales' 0618 service to Cardiff Central, arriving there at 0923 on Tuesday morning.

Which is just about time to allow us to board the 0930 FGW service to Southampton Central that arrives at 1204 on Tuesday afternoon.

Which allows us to take the 12:15 XC to Manchester Piccadilly, arriving 16:39 Tuesday.

This allows us time to have something to eat and drink and then we board the 1720 First TPE service to Doncaster that arrives at 1853 on Tuesday evening.

We take the 19:34 East Midlands trains service to Gainsborough Lea Road, arriving 19:59 on Tuesday

Such is the luck of good connectional timings that we only wait a matter of minutes for our next service and we board the 2005 Northern service to Woodhouse that arrives there at 2049 on Tuesday night.

And then on 2P86, the 2146 Northern service to Sheffield (the 2126 from Worksop) that arrives at Sheffield at 2203 on Tuesday evening.

Yet again, we are most fortunate with connectional timings, as there are a few minutes to have to wait and board the 2211 First TPE service to Manchester Airport that arrives there at 2326 on Tuesday night.

Oh we're back in Manchester again :P

We then check into a hotel for the night and in the morning we board 1P16, the 0805 First TransPennine Express service to Newcastle, where we alight at Leeds at 0922 on Wednesday morning.

WE then stretch our legs with a walk to the Bus Station, and board the 0945 Transdev in Harrogate service to Ripon, arriving 1117, Wednesday morning.

After a lovely spot of lunch and a few hours in Ripon, we continue our travels in Yorkshire and board the 1415 Eddie Brown Tours Group route 143 to York (Rougier Street) (five minute walk from York railway station if that is of any help), arriving there at 1532 on Wednesday afternoon.

There is always time to see things in York, even for a short time, and we look at the area before returning back to Rougier Street, this time to stand B, where we board the 1623 Yorkshire Coastliner service 843 to Malton (Wells Lane) that arrives at 1705 on Wednesday afternoon.

I hope to return to York soon, I went in August 2009 and would love to go back!

We then take the short six minute walk to the railway station and board 1P46, the 1747 First TransPennine Express service to Scarborough (the 1535 from Manchester Airport) that arrives at Scarborough at 1815 on Wednesday evening.

Right outside the railway station is bus stop "T" where we board the 1820 Arriva North East service 93 to Whitby bus station that arrives at 1919 on Wednesday evening.

We then check into a lovely B&B on the sea front before having a lovely night's sleep, having a fresh morning walk along the coast the next morning, grabbing a coffee and head over to the railway station to board 2D17, the 0850 Northern service to Middlesbrough, arriving there at 1017 on Thursday morning.
