It may well be but this game is based on exact times, not estimates......I'm not sure about inventing delays either. Sorry to be difficult here but I'd like to keep an exact record of every journey.

We book into a hotel and have a hearty breakfast and return to the station which is very quiet at that time on Sunday morning and board the 0814 First TPE service to Preston that arrives at 0838 on Sunday morning.

We then board 1A06, the 0900 Virgin service to London Euston, which arrives there at 1205 on Sunday lunchtime (not sure why it takes just over three hours to do a journey that usually takes just over two hours - must be engineering works on or something).

A quick hot drink and we board the 1238 Virgin Trains service to Birmingham New Street that arrives at 1405 on Sunday afternoon.

After a snack lunch on Birmingham New St station, we board the 1503 XC service to Wakefield Westgate, arriving there at 1644 on Sunday afternoon.

A short journey now, so we board the 1717 EC service to Leeds that arrives at 1759 on Sunday afternoon.

We then have a quick change onto 1E89, the 1812 TransPennine Express service to Middlesbrough, which arrives there at 1940 on Sunday evening.

Middlesbrough on a cold January evening is somewhere we need to use for as a change of TOC, so we board the 2012 Northern service to Darlington that arrives at 2043 on Sunday evening.

Upon arrival at Darlington, we then have a choice of taking 1N30, the 2108 East Coast or 1E60, the 2114 CrossCountry to Newcastle. Either way, both trains arrive at Newcastle at 2143 on Sunday evening.

After all these journeys on a Sunday, interesting as they have been, we decide the best policy would be to book into a hotel and have a well earned rest, so we book an early morning alarm call with reception that awakes us fresh as a daisy and at the station, we board the 0525 EC service to Doncaster that arrives there at 0652 on Monday morning.

We have about half an hour for a spot of breakfast before boarding 2W14, the 0728 Northern service to Beverley, arriving there at 0852 on Monday morning. I was going to head off in the Manchester direction on a Cleethorpes-Manchester TPE, but I think we'll head along the East Coast first before heading that way. I do love Manchester though

A quick walk to see the Minster on a brief visit, then it is time to return to board the 1000 Northern service to Scarborough that arrives there at 1117 on Monday morning.

We have a lovely day in Scarborough, such as going to the beach, having some fish and chips and going to the amusements, as you do at a proper British seaside resort, and then call it a day by leaving on 1F73, the 1848 First TransPennine Express service to Liverpool Lime Street, arriving there at 2200 on Monday evening (best to leave after peak hours )

A short stay to view the floodlit architectural buildings that are opposite the station then we board the 2302 Northern service to Preston that arrives at 0013 in the very early hours of Tuesday morning.

This provides us with an excellent connection onto 2N93, the 0021 Northern service to Blackpool North, arriving there at 0050 early Tuesday morning.

Far too late to book into a hotel, but a wonderful opportunity to walk along the new tramway and to hear the sea until, suitably full of sea air, we return to the station to catch the 0456 Northern service to Blackburn that arrives there at 0538 on Tuesday morning.

We then grab a spot of breakfast before boarding 2J51, the 0628 Northern service to Manchester Victoria, which arrives at 0726 on Tuesday morning.

We now board the 0747 Northern service to Southport that arrives at 0859 on Tuedsay morning.

We stay at Southport for the morning before boarding 2U27, the 1213 Merseyrail service to Liverpool South Parkway, arriving there at 1313 on Tuesday afternoon.

Time to see the seaside on the east coast now and we board the 1332 First TPE service to Scarborough that arrives at 1630 on Tuesday afternoon.

Apologies on my earlier illegal move. Didn't read the part about every journey running to time!

After a quick bite to eat on the Yorkshire coast at Bridlington, we continue on our journey, boarding 2C89, the 19:10 Northern Rail service to Hatfield & Stainforth (of all places!), arriving at 20:50 on Tuesday evening.

We hang around for a short while before boarding 2R50, the 2156 Northern service to Sheffield, which arrives at 2254 on Tuesday evening.

Just in time for a quick pint at the Sheffield Tap, before wandering to the 2321 EMT to Derby, arriving 0011, Wednesday morning.

We decide to stay on the station and settle down to wait until it is time to board the 0455 EMT service to Luton that arrives at 0623 on Wednesday morning.

Time to grab a cuppa and try out the joint cross-London commuter service joint-operated by Southeastern and First Capital Connect, so we jump on 2E15, the 0700 Southeastern/First Capital Connect service to Sevenoaks, which will be a right barrel of laughs with all the commuters passing through central London, arriving there at 0900 on Wednesday morning.

All those commuters make us pleased to see we have no such time worries and we enjoy a hot drink and a light snack before boarding the 1012 Southeastern service to Ramsgate that arrives at 1144 on Wednesday morning.

Ramsgate on a January day is not too inviting, so we return rather more quickly on the 1205 High Speed service to St Pancras International, arriving at 1321 on Wednesday afternoon.

The last journey takes to us to the capital city, where we can board the next leg northwards, which is the 1355 EMT service to Sheffield that arrives there at 1600 on Wednesday afternoon.
