After a nice meal in Doncaster, we have a lapse in concentration (or are willing to take a risk) and board the 496 bus, leaving at 20:30 on Thursday evening - arriving into Wakefield at 2155.

Which company runs this bus?

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
The reputation of Wakefield Kirkgate is such that no right-minded individual would consider venturing into its confines at 2200 onwards, so the sensible decision is made to enter Wakefield Westgate station and board the 2221 Northern service to Leeds, arriving there at 2245 on Thursday evening.

Good idea to also name the TOC and the time of the service arrival at its destination........which in this case is 0805

It dawns on us that the trams (new or old) have entered their winter hibernation, so we just have time for a hot drink then we board the 0829 Northern service to Preston, arriving there at 0852 on Friday morning.

After a bit of evening fun in the amusements and a quick night out we shall then board 1T97, the 2203 First TransPennine service from Scarborough to York, which arrives at 2255 on Friday evening.

It takes nearly 1 and 3/4 hours to get from York to Newcastle?! How strange!!

Unfortunately we'll have to wait for 2 hours at Newcastle and jump on 1Y03, the 0440 East Coast service to London Kings Cross, which arrives at 0810 on Saturday morning :)

Why on earth have we gone from Newcastle to London and then back up to Edinburgh? :P fun though! hehe!

Um, in that case, let's stop for a quick coffee and jump on 1M97, the 1407 First TransPennine Express service to Manchester Airport, where we shall alight at Manchester Piccadilly at 1727 on Saturday afternoon (or would you call that evening?) :P

Ooh crikey moses, I thought I'd replied to this! Sorry :P

Ahaa fair enough, I like that theory, of the 3 countries :)

So at Llanelli on a Saturday night. Okies.

Well, there's not really much else we can do. So let's check into a hotel, and on the Sunday jump on 1W23, the 1056 Arriva Trains Wales service to Cardiff Central, which arrives at 1235.

I was going to go straight up to Manchester but only went to Cardiff as I thought somebody else might go along the Valleys, to London or the South West because we'd just come from Manchester. But oh well, it's nice to break it up!

I fancy going to my favourite seaside resort EVER!! So let's jump on 1N68, the 1746 First TransPennine Express service to Blackpool North, which arrives at 1901 on Sunday evening.
