Exactly Dan.

I always wonder if a see someone move to or move myself to a out of the place way, I wonder if we've been there before.

I just moved to Chislehurst and I bet we've been there before!

The question - Is there a place our roving traveler hasn't been!

We then board the 1417 Metrobus service 162 to Beckenham Junction station, arriving there at 1452 on Tuesday afternoon.
HOLD HOLD HOLD
The TfL journey planner should be used for TfL routes as it takes precedence over londonbusroutes.net. However it was not used in the previous move by Bodie and having checked in the TfL journey planner it the services that arrives at 1353 leaves us at Green Lane/Belmont Lane rather than Gordon Arms so that is where your next move should be from.

Oh for the love of Peter Pervis!

I used londonbusroutes as i'd seen it mentioned in this thread and as it came up as an option when a googled 'Orpington bus routes' I thought I was ok.

In this case I admit, I got the wrong end of the stick. We must use Tfl and NOT londonbusroutes.

The reason for my confusion is that the last but one move I attempted, not valid of course. That from Leyton, Midland Road to Leytonstone, Grove Green Road WAS, I say again WAS using the Tfl planner!

So i'm damned if I do and damned if I don't!

I'm told the reason my Leyton to Leytonstone move was invalid is because no 1042 dep was seen. Well I saw it on the Tfl planner.
I'm no expert but I think I can use a planner. I've never gone wrong on any real life journey, using an online planner for my journey as well a planner.

As I said in an another post, I would like to see just how many places we have been in our epic journey. I am going to set about that, as any move I make will be invalid and I genuinely don't like to hold up the game.

On further investigation it seems there was a 1042 departure but for some reason it wasn't showing earlier. The game will now HOLD so I can ask now if players would prefer me to recall the game so that Bodie's 1042 move is valid or if we should continue from Green Lane/Belmont Lane at 1353 on Tuesday. No further moves please until I post RESUME.

Not being funny but there's only about a four or five minute difference between the two sources so does it really matter?

Yes, since the move taken from Leyton Midland Road took as to Barking when if we had gone with Bodie's move we would be at Grove Green Road. I think it's only fair that we also get some input from Bodie considering it was the original post by Bodie on if we should recall the game to Leytonstone Grove Green Road, considering it was Bodie's move to there which was incorrecly believed to be invalid.

The rules do state the planner to use.
Game moves
... For journeys using any TfL service, times from TfL journey planner must be used.
Having had a similar experience over differing journey planners in the past the rules are quite clear. If the OP uses the correct planner for the journey they posted then we can continue instead of keep getting delayed at each and every stop...

The issue here is that the correct journey planner was used to move from Leyton Midland Road but the move was incorrectly believed to be incorrect when actually it was valid so the question is if Bodie wants the game to be recalled back so this move or not.

Sorry for the extended delay, the following will now apply:

I will post a RESUME when it a decision has been made.

If Bodie asks for the game to be recalled to the 1042 move from Leyton Midland Road then we will continue from Leytonstone Grove Green Road at 1102 on Tuesday under open floor conditions.

The alterantive is that we continue from Chislehurst Green Lane/Belmont Lane at 1353 on Tuesday with DanTrainMan185 having priority to post the next move for the next 24 hours after which time it becomes open floor.

Sorry for the complicated situation here, this is the result of effectively having a HOLD within a HOLD.

Yes, since the move taken from Leyton Midland Road took as to Barking when if we had gone with Bodie's move we would be at Grove Green Road.

I'm not referring to location, I'm just referring to times. As long as leave say half an hour after arrival, that will ensure that both times (if different) have a guaranteed connection on a following move.

The problem with Londonbusroutes.net is that it only give times for major stops

The problem with the tfl journey planner is that once you get down into the finer detail it's a pig to use

And of course the two can differ on times

Not sure there is a wholly satisfactory solution

As to places visited - I'm sure our traveller must have passed through, though probably not alighted at, just about everywhere on the rail network. Buses I wouldn't be so sure - there's plenty of villages that have one or two buses a week that you need to be in the right place at the right time to catch

Well that makes no difference in this case since the original move by Bodie has now been discovered to be correct. I am not asking here which journey planner should but if the game should be recalled to Bodie's move or not. If the game is recalled then we are going to end up in a differnet location due the alternative move from Leyton Midland Road taking us to Barking. I am happy to change the site used if most people wanted it but this is not why we are currently holding. If a 30 minute wait was introduced there's stilll the issue of website A saying bus arrives at 1200 and website B saying that bus arrives at 1203. The former would allow a bus at 1231 to be taken, the latter would not. There is however no need for a 30 minute wait, it is quite clear that the TfL journey planner should be used and the decision to go with this site was made earlier in the game due to londonbusroutes.net showing different times.

I will ask again, do people want a recall so that Bodie's move is now valid and we are at Leytonstone Grove Green Road since it actually was correct. If Bodie asks for a recall then the game will be recalled but it will also be recalled if there are requests from other players. I have removed the planned 2200 deadline today to give allow for more time but if either Bodie or other players request a recall then the game will likely resume later today.

Since there is support for the recall, there's no need to delay the game further and I will now recall the game back to Leytonstone Grove Geeen Road at 1102 on Tuesday which is where we RESUME from. Sorry for the extended delay in resolving this issue. I have updated the rules to show that for TfL services the journey planner should be used and traveline.info for non-TfL bus services.

We enter Leytonestone tube station and board the 1111 Central line service to Epping arriving at 1132 on Tuesday.

We then board the 1230 Olympian & SM Coaches service 19 to Harlow (Bus Station), arriving there at 1325 on Tuesday afternoon.

If there's a hold on this now....I swear I will fly!!

According to traveline the service in question is actually service 20 and the departure time for the stop you were left at (opposite the Two Brewers) is actually 1228. Since the arrival time at Harlow Bus Station is the same though, it doesn't change anything and so I will accept that the bus was actually boarded was the 20 at 1228 from opposite the Two Brewers and no hold will be called. Remember to use traveline.info for non-TfL bus services.

I did use the official timetable for the 19/20 (see here). Admittedly it isn't the Traveline website but the latter can be quite difficult to use on a mobile. However, with London services I will be using Transport for London in the near future.

We then board the 1351 Network Harlow service 10 to Harlow (Railway Station), arriving there at 1409 on Tuesday afternoon. This is from Traveline as I now have access to a computer.

Having suffered a few problems on recent omnibus journies we elect to make our way to the nearest railhead. We catch the next available bus, the 13:56 Network Harlow service 20, from this stop as it takes its trip round the area and alight at Harlow Railway Station arriving at 14:17 on Tuesday.

We continue on the 1402 Harlow Townlink service 20 to Harlow o/s Town Railway station arriving at 1423 on Tuesday.
No we don't, Dan posted first.

There have been times when company timetable websites have contradicted traveine and so it was decided to use traveline.info. In this case the timetable on the website didn't have the departure time for the stop you were left at. The rule to use traveline will remain.

I see no 1351 departure from Church Langley Tesco on the Network Harlow 10 service or any arrival at 1409 at Harlow station. It looks like the first available service from Church Langley Tesco to Harlow is the 1402 Network Harlow service 20. Note that a HOLD does not automatically mean a move is incorrect, it is just used to stop the game so that a move can be checked and discussed and also allows the original poster to show that the move was actually correct.

Possibly. However, without opening a can of worms, there could be an argument that Traveline may have contradicted the company timetables

It's possible but when this was discussed previously it was decided to go with traveline for this game. Company website timetables also do not show times for all stops.

Sorry, that was my fault. I read the wrong timetable!

I'm referring to Option 6 (see here)

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
That's fine, we will RESUME from Harlow o/s Town Railway station at 1417 on Tuesday.

Deciding upon a strategic move away from confusing Essex omnibus services for a short while, we enter into the railway station and board the 1425 Abellio GA service to Stansted Mountfitchet that arrives at 1436 on Tuesday afternoon.
