Fortunate to find a bus service that has a 5-minute connection time period, we then board the 0615 London Bus service 74 to Marylebone (Dorset Street stop....On Gloucester Place) that arrives there at 0646 on Friday morning.

We carry on our journey by boarding the 0730 London Bus service 113 to Hendon (War memorial on Watford Way) that arrives there at 0754 to Friday morning.

Moving to the DLR platforms, we next board the 0842 DLR service to Woolwich Arsenal DLR station that arrives there at 0909 on Friday morning.

We exit the station and make our way to one of the bus stops that serve the station. We continue on the 09:15 London Buses 161 service to Chislehurst, Centre Common Rd /War Memorial, Stop P arriving at 10:00 on Friday.

We cross the road from the War Memorial to the opposite bus stop and board the 1006 London Bus service 269 to Bexleyheath (Friswell Place) that arrives there at 1048 on Friday morning.

A problem here - TfL's journey planner refuses to show any departures from that stop (is it set down only??) and insists we walk to a nearby stop first. So we do that - and depart from Mayplace Rd West / Clock Tower at 1103 on London Central's 229 service arriving at Thamesmead Town Centre at either 1144 or 1152 on Friday morning depending on which version of the timetable you believe.

Mindful of the 10 minute connection time here, we then board the 1357 SE service to Dartford that arrives at 1442 on Friday afternoon.

Leaving the railway station, we walk to the bus stop exterior to it on Footscray Road and board the 1510 London Bus service 321 to New Cross Gate (Sainsburys) that arrives there at 1600 on Friday afternoon.

We decide to visit another branch of the esteemed store on Abellio London's 1614 departure on route P13 travelling to East Dulwich Sainsburys, arriving at 1638 Friday afternoon.

Time to change the mode of travel and head northwards, so we enter the railway station and board the 1832 SE service to Flitwick that arrives at 1936 on Friday evening.

We now have the minimum connection time, as applies to this station, to make our way from platform 2 to platform 4 where we join the 19:41 FCC service to Bedford arriving at 19:55 on Friday.

Another change of TOC sees us board the 2011 EMT service to Sheffield that arrives there at 2234 on Friday evening.

We settle down for the night, but get disturbed by a procession of freight trains none of which we are able to use... likewise an ECS working so we wait for the 05:20 EMT service to East Midlands Parkway arriving at 05:33 on Saturday morning.

Deciding to head south, we next board the 0635 EMT service to Luton that arrives there at 0755 on Saturday morning.
