I was going to ask for a 'Hold' on the game to allow the poster to confirm whether they arrived at the stop on Devonshire Road or the stop on the opposite side of the campus site situated on Manchester road?
If it is the latter then there may be an onward service available, otherwise as you have put it is a long time to wait. Is that allowed?

The posting in question specifically mentioned "outside the university campus" and my wife and I have driven to Buxton this morning to see exactly where the University buses terminate in the morning, as I spent ages yesterday looking at all possible options of ANY service provision till my head hurt. No normal service buses stop where the last posting left the quiz and a walk from there would be required to board any of these, which is against the quiz rules.
How is that for dedication !!
Yes, a long wait is allowed when there are no other services available. The two hour clock starts from the time of the first available service.

At the end of the academic day, we join in with the university students and decide to take one of the Unibus services that passes next to Roman fort remains, so we choose to board the 1645 Unibus service 1 to Gamesley (Melandra Castle Road) that arrives there at 1737 on Monday afternoon.
The poster wouldn't have had a clue - the name of the stop was the terminus for the route as shown in the timetable. Having got there (and after the event) he did work out that a day's academic study was in prospect before departing at 1645

Do you mean 1717? The bus arrives at Glossop, its terminus, at 1725

The information in my posting came from a note written by a member of the campus administrative staff when my wife and I actually travelled earlier today to Buxton in her 4x4 to physically see where the terminal points for the Unibuses are.
In this hand-written note for the service number 1, the note states:-
Buxton, Devonshire Campus.........1645
Glossop, Henry Street.................1727
Gamesley, Melandra Castle Road...1737
In that case I'd better take a departure that fits both scenarios - your note and Traveline East Midlands timetable

Not wishing to avail ourselves of the rail service, we cross over the road and board the 1855 Stotts Tours service 202 to Glossop (Henry Street) that arrives there at 1925 on Monday evening.
There would appear to be no buses leaving (plenty arriving but they depart from a different street going back to wherever they came from) Henry Street until morning, when we take the 0837 High Peak 64 service to Macclesfield Railway station stop B where we arrive at 0944 Tuesday morning

Ah. Yes it was. I always forget that the 307 is the 308 when travelling in the counter-clockwise direction. Maybe because I only ever had to catch it clockwise when switching between campuses, where I'd change at Stepping Hill for the 375 or the 394 if I wanted the scenic route

We are thwarted in our ambition to catch the 245 service as the first evening service does not start from this stop until 2021 and that is too long a wait in this particular location, so we cross the road and board the 1927 service 247 with its evening operator being Stagecoach Manchester to Eccles Interchange that arrives there at 2018 on Tuesday evening.

Question: do you mean Stagecoach in Wigan?. First only run the daytime ones to Worsley.

Such is the time of day, we have a long wait until we join with the early morning workers and board the 0552 First Manchester service 25 to Boothstown (Leigh Road/Ellenbrook Road) that arrives there at 0602 on Wednesday morning.
