Coming out of the railway station, we make our way to the array of the nine bus stops at the interchange outside it and board the 2110 Burnley & Pendle service 26 to Read (Campbell Street) that arrives there at 2133 on Thursday evening.

We are fortunate to find that there are any services, bus or rail, still available as late as this from the area where we find ourselves, so we enter into the railway station and noting this is a request stop, we give a clear signal to the train driver and board the 2310 Northern service to Lostock Hall that arrives there at 2343 on Thursday evening.

Out of the railway station to the bus stop outside, we only have a short wait before we join the early morning workers on the 0745 Blackpool Transport service 5 to Blackpool (Chapel Street) that arrives there at 0755 on Friday morning.

We spend some time looking at the building that used to be the terminal station building of the now long-closed branch line from the Garstang area that featured the "Pilling Pig" and then we board the 1144 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 89 to Glasson Dock (Swingbridge) that arrives there at 1227 on Friday afternoon.

We decide next to sample yet another service number run by this same company and board the 1807 Cumfy Coaches service 82 to Woodplumpton (White Cross) that arrives there at 1904 on Friday evening.

We are in luck this evening, as the timetable shows some limited services onwards. We board the 19:30 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 4 and travel to the terminus at Longridge (Post Office) arriving 19:55 on Friday.

So here were find ourself in the small wee hours of Saturday morning in this bus station of seemingly never-ending number of stances, which we decide to count to while away some of the time before taking a local area bus service that has a very early start, so we board the 0540 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 1A to Red Scar (Industrial Estate) that arrives there at 0552 on Saturday morning

No longer do the trams terminate here, nor is there any sign of the long gone Overhead Railway. With redevelopment no longer making this an island it seems a curious place.
